Royse City · Class A & Class B

A shorter CDL visit for experienced drivers.

If you already handle a commercial vehicle confidently, put those skills to work. Choose the services you need, review your eligibility for complimentary ELDT and plan your trip around a confirmed test date.

Eligibility & price

What does “complimentary ELDT” cover?

It covers the separate behind-the-wheel range and public-road ELDT activity for eligible customers. Our published Class A/B offer requires the specified pre-trip, backing and road vehicle services, a Class A/B test-truck rental and Customer Resources, totaling at least $1,750 at their original service prices. Fuel and online CLP practice do not count toward that amount.

On the range, the instructor observes your control of the vehicle during the required maneuvers. On the public road, the instructor assesses how you operate in traffic. The instructor documents your performance and the training provider reports successful completion to FMCSA. If you need more time, discuss the next steps and any additional cost before booking them.

For Passenger or School Bus, call for the separate bus terms and vehicle quote. See the published service prices and eligibility terms · FMCSA proficiency guidance.

Planning from anywhere in Texas

What can you finish in days?

Before you travel

Call with your CDL goal, experience, commercial learner permit issue date, theory status and preferred transmission. Ask for an itemized written quote and confirmed equipment and dates before booking a room.

At the Royse City facility

For the three-day option, plan for the selected Monday–Wednesday pre-trip and backing familiarization sessions. Road familiarization and separate ELDT range and road activities are scheduled with the office. Experienced, prepared drivers may complete their on-site work in days.

When you are ready to test

A Thursday or Friday DPS test may fit the same trip if you have a confirmed appointment, meet the permit waiting period and have completed the required training. DPS sets the appointment, conducts the skills test and issues the license.

Allow for the Texas CLP waiting period. Applicants who need a CLP must hold it for at least 14 days before the skills test. An independent theory course, trainer proficiency assessment and DPS appointment each have their own timing. Texas DPS requirements.

Working out your budget

Could the trip save you thousands?

Our qualifying Dallas South example below totals $1,750 in individually selected services. The $2,600 difference compares listed prices before travel, fuel, taxes, independent theory, medical or DPS fees, and any financial aid.

Lone Star College, for example, publishes six-week weekday and eight-week evening options. Compare your own out-of-pocket school quote with all the costs of your Royse City trip, including nights away from work. Your choice of test site, vehicle, travel and funding can change the result.
